“[Early Educator’s] work ensures children’s school readiness and future academic success, making them invaluable contributors to society.”
– Zero to Three

The importance of early childhood educators and their impact on young children’s lives is supported by decades of research. We know they are vital to high-quality early education and provide multiple benefits to children and their families. Studies show:
- A young child’s development is fueled by their relationships with educators, parents/guardians and other adults.
- Nurturing, positive, and skilled caregiving is the strongest predictor of quality for young children in child care settings.
- When early childhood educators support the social-emotional, cognitive and literacy skill development of young children, children are better prepared for success in school.

WCSS is committed to promoting the critical work of early childhood professionals.
We advocate for better pay and working environments, and we support their ongoing professional development.
